Foundation & Mission
The Preparatorian Debating Society (PDS) provides a platform for students to voice their opinions, sharpen logic, and cultivate rational thinking through debate. Our mission is to build eloquent speakers, critical thinkers, and respectful listeners who understand that debate is not only about winning, but also about understanding different perspectives.

BUTEX Championship
Words were our weapons, and logic was our shield. Team PDS 01 consisting of Nehal Farzad and Md. Mohibuzzaman Taohid is the high school champion team of "Antujal presents BUTEXDC Bangla BP Debate Tournament 2026"
Runners up - BDC fundraiser
PDS entered a tournament dominated by university teams and achieved major success, earning Top High School Break and High School Runners-Up. What started with uncertainty became a valuable learning experience, competing against top judges including Team Bangladesh’s manager. Additionally, a PDS member independently broke as an adjudicator and judged semifinals. Overall, it marked a strong beginning and growth moment for the team.
Bangladesh Betar High School Bangla Debate Tournament
Our hard work and sharp arguments definitely paid off. The Mohammadpur Preparatory School and College team, consisting of Swapnil Biswas, Tasmia Farah, Syed Ahnaf Tahmid and Jubair Malik is the champion of "Bangladesh Betar High School Bangla Debate Tournament"

Past Events
1st Genesis Intra-Wing Debate Tournament (2022)
Our inaugural inter-class tournament within the Boys’ Wing of Mohammadpur Preparatory School and College set the foundation. Despite being an internal event, it featured world-class judges from across the country and maintained a level of professionalism and quality comparable to national competitions.
2nd Genesis Intra-Wing Debate Tournament (2023)
ontinuing the tradition, this tournament reinforced our club’s reputation by delivering exceptional organization, high-level adjudication, and a vibrant, competitive atmosphere, becoming a trademark event within the Boys’ Wing.
3rd Genesis Inter-Wing Debate Tournament (2024)
Expanding beyond the Boys’ Wing, this event brought together participants from all wings of our school for the first time. It featured exciting new elements such as gourmet food, beverages, a live concert, and a break-night adjudicator reveal, transforming the tournament into both a competitive and social highlight of the year.
National Camp Phase 1 (2024)
For the first time, the Preparatorian Debating Society collaborated with the Bangladesh Debating Council, hosting the national camp phase 1 featuring new motions, arguments and debaters
MPSC Nationals (2025)
Building on the solid foundation of three successful tournaments, MPSC Nationals 2025, this event brought together 32 teams representing schools and colleges all across Bangladesh. This event raised the bar even higher, delivering world-class adjudication, challenging debate topics, and a professionally managed competition that showcases the best young debaters in the country.
